Finding the best BJJ gear is a guilty pleasure of ours and we like to walk you along the journey of it. We have reviewed a number of the biggest companies available today but as you know with gear, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ENOUGH!! In this article, we are going to go through and review Gold BJJ!

Gold BJJ Headgear

At first glance, the headgear looks solid. It looks like an old pair of headgear we used to where early on in our BJJ journey. The key difference between that pair and this one is one the design (logo across the front) and the stabilizing strap at the top.

The big thing for us when wearing headgear is that we want it to be as comfortable as possible (which is hard to find) and not look like a dork wearing it. This is a solid pair of headgear but we personally believe that the matman gear is better quality. If you are looking to avoid cauliflower ear and proper set of headgear is a must!

Gold BJJ Rash Guard

Rash guards are a commodity but finding a high-quality product goes a long way with our decision to buy. Gold BJJ has a surprisingly high-quality product that not only fits well but looks great. If you are into the minimalist design that they have to offer, we do think rash guard is worth buying.

Many others have left great reviews on the product as well.

Gold BJJ Shorts

The shorts from Gold BJJ are great. They are a board short style, with a hidden drawstring, and have a tight fit to them so snagging is not really possible while wearing these.

If you are a no-gi competitor it is important to have a pair of shorts that are optimized for mobility. The fight shorts from Gold BJJ allow any jiu-jitsu practitioner to move with ease. the shorts themself are made of 4-way stretch material and are perfect for no-gi jiu-jitsu, boxing, and MMA training.

Gold BJJ Aeroweave Gi Review

At this point, we have a lot of Gi’s. Gi’s do not come in equal shapes or sizes. We personally love lightweight gis because they make us feel our best on the mats. We firmly believe that nogi is perceived to be better for most people because they don’t like the feeling of being bogged down by a heavy gi.

Gold BJJ took things into its own hands and made an ultralightweight gi that is IBJJF competition approved, pre-shrunk, breathable and makes training in the gi fun.

Light Gi’s just make us feel more athletic on the mats. When you feel light you just move a little bit easier. If you want to train in a gi that is big and heavy be our guest, but for us it has to be lightweight. Gold BJJ Gis are an excellent choice for a purchase if you are in the market to buy a gi! They have two types (foundation Gi and Aeroweave Gi) in multiple colors ranging from white, blue, grey, or black!

Lightweight Gis Makes Breaking Grips Difficult

The weight of a Gi can affect the ability to break grips in a couple of ways.

Firstly, a heavier Gi can provide more resistance when an opponent grabs onto it, making it easier to generate leverage and break free from their grip. Conversely, a lightweight Gi may not offer as much resistance, which means that it may be easier for an opponent to maintain a grip on it.

However, it’s important to note that breaking grips in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu involves more than just relying on the weight of the Gi. Proper technique, leverage, and grip-fighting skills play significant roles in breaking grips effectively.

Skilled practitioners can still break grips regardless of the weight of their Gi.

Who Would I Recommend this Gi to?

We would recommend that you pick up Gold BJJ gear if you are just one of those casual jiu-jitsu practitioners. there are some really cool Gi’s out there that hold a little more curb appeal in regards to the designs but if you are just looking for something solid that will last a long time, Gold BJJ is a great choice.

Jiu Jitsu athletes will typically rock their school’s gym while in competition, which is understandable.

We love buying new gear and hope to continue buying and testing out new products that come our way.
