Sanabul Boxing Gloves Review

Sanabul Boxing Glove Review

Hey Everyone! We are back again with another gear review for boxing gloves. We got our hands on the Sanabul Essential Gel Boxing Gloves this time around.

As always, we review with a scale that we use internally known as the Graveyard Scale (here) this is a scale that we use to help us rate the gear that we get our hands on from 1 – 10. Overall, we were not fans of the boxing gloves coming in from Sanabul.

If you have been following us for a while you will know that we love the Sanabull Gi’s (core series & highlight pro)  and even the MMA gloves that we have gotten to test out, the boxing gloves fell short in our opinion.

We are on a mission to help people find the best boxing gloves under $200. The sanabul essential gel boxing gloves were one of the first five items that we got to test out. Our goal is to review a list that consists of 12 more pairs that we were told to try from the Reddit community r/fightgear.

Overview of the Sanabul Boxing Gloves

Overall, the Sanabul Essential Gel Boxing Gloves are the cheapest pair of gloves that we have tried out. We did not really hear anyone suggesting these gloves as ones that we should try on the subreddit r/fightgear but when we went to Amazon they were one of the first pairs that popped up.

Considering that we have bought and tested various Sanabul Products (Sanabul Core/Pro Gis & various MMA Gloves) we didn’t think that the gloves would be horrible, but to our surprise, these were not even close to being our favorite.

I am trying to be respectful here because I do love Sanabul as a company, and their other products are great I am just not a fan of these gloves. Overall, we gave these gloves a 6.85 rating out of 10. They did not do too hot on any of the categories that I think really matter (protection and quality) when it comes to choosing a glove.

Quality & Feel (1/2)

The Sanabul essential gel boxing gloves were underwhelming in the category of both quality and feel. I did not love the exterior feeling of the leather on these gloves. Of all the pairs we tried these gloves’ exteriors were our least favorite.

Putting our hand inside the gloves initially was also not the best of the gloves that we tried and this untimely left of lowering the score pretty drastically.

  • The leather on the outside is okay nothing to fan over

  • Cushion feels stiff

Protection (1.1/3)

The foam on these gloves is pretty thick but in a lot of ways, it felt stiff. On top of the padding not having as much recoil, there is very little wrist support. If your plan for these gloves is to do striking practice a couple of times a week, not hit heavy bags over and over, or just to save a buck, they may be a good option. For people serious about getting into a routine of striking, not so sure.

  • Will need hand wraps to protect your knuckles if you plan on sparring or training more seriously

  • These gloves are very beginner and you may hurt yourself if you are doing intense training with them

Price

These gloves are very good on price. They are only $30 and will not break the bank by any means but you get what you pay for. heap gloves came with a low-quality product.

  • The price of these gloves is only $30, so they are very affordable

Weight

These gloves, like many others, offer a variety of weight gloves to choose from. Although, they are 14 oz the gloves themselves felt a little more bulky than the other gloves we have had

Final Rating For the Sanabul Essential Gel Boxing Gloves (6.8/10)

6.85 is the lowest rating that we have given on Grapplers Graveyard for any kind of gear that we have touched. We got some good feedback from previous reviews on gear, and some people thought we were being too generous with our ratings. We believe the rating here is reflective of the item we got our hands on and tried out.

Sanabul Essential Gel Boxing Gloves

On the Graveyard Scale, these gloves scored a 6.85 rating out of 10. This is the lowest-rated item that has been reviewed to date.

Alternatives and Recommendations

  • Different Budget Pair I Think is Better: RDX Sports Kara Boxing Gloves (RDX Boxing Glove Review)

  • Better for $100 Budget: Venum Elite (review), Fairtex Boxing Gloves (review), Top King Boxing Gloves (review)

Cost and Value

You kind of get what you pay for when you get these boxing gloves. At the end of the day, they are $30. Cannot really expect much out of a pair of boxing gloves like this.

Buying Guide

Sanabul Essential Gel Boxing Gloves can be purchased both through their website and on Amazon. We personally find it easier to buy 95% of products on Amazon because we are shopping from there almost daily and the shipping ends up just coming faster.

Conclusion

If you are just looking for a cheap pair of boxing gloves that will not get used all too often to train in from time to time, these are a cost-effective way to do so. If you are taking Boxing or Muay Thai seriously to any degree highly suggest going with another pair to choose from.

The updated list of Best Boxing Gloves Under $200 will showcase new pairs as we get around to updates.
