Hey Everyone! We are back again with another gear review for the Fairtex BGV9 Boxing Glove. Overall, we were very pleased with this glove and rated it above average on the Graveyard Scale.
As always, we review with a scale that we use internally, known as the Graveyard Scale (here). This is a scale that we use to help us rate the gear that we get our hands on from 1 – 10. These gloves are overall very high quality, great for Thai-focused fights, and are best described as a jack of all trades kind of glove.
These gloves will be best for Thai-based combat sports athletes versus those who strictly want to box. The main reason we say this is that these gloves have a bit more opening around the hand/palm area to catch kicks better. Most Thai gloves offer this subtle difference that most novice strikers may miss out on.
What we noticed is that these gloves are actually cheaper if you buy directly from Amazon versus the Official Distributor website. So if you end up going with them, you can snag it for a pretty decent price point right around $100.

Quality & Feel
The Fairtex BGV9 delivers the kind of quality you’d expect from a trusted brand.
They offer great quality leather, solid padding, and attention to detail in the stitching. While the gloves felt a bit stiff during the first few sessions, they quickly broke in to the hand with regular use, becoming comfortable without losing their supportive structure. Once broken in, they have a nice balance between protection and flexibility, making them dependable for both sparring and pad work.
Personally, I was not the biggest fan of the wrist protection on these gloves compared to some of the other gloves that we have on the list.

Protection
When it comes to hand and wrist protection, the Fairtex BGV9 performs okay. They offer a good fit with padding that disperses impact effectively, but overall, I was personally not the biggest fan of the wrsit support.
If you have been following our review, you will know that wrist support is a critical feature for us due to the fact that we have broken wrists in the past. We are not saying the glove is terrible in this category, but there are other options that we have that make our wrists feel a bit more supported. If you are in the camp that does not care as much about this feature, these gloves are all around great.
