Hey Everyone! We are back again with another gear review for some wrestling shoes. Today our review is for the Adidas Tech Fall 2.0 Wrestling Shoes and in all honesty, they’re one of the best wrestling shoes that we’ve tried to date.Â
As always, we review with a scale that we use internally known as the Graveyard Scale (here) this is a scale that we use to help us rate the gear that we get our hands on from 1 – 10. For wrestling shoes, we’ll be looking at categories that matter most to wrestlers: traction, comfort & fit, durability, weight, and price/value.
Our overall opinion is that these shoes are obviously made by one of the best shoe manufacturers in the world. They have excellent quality in their product. They feel incredible on the foot, and they fit true to size. Our overall opinion is that these shoes are obviously made by one of the best shoe manufacturers in the world. They have excellent quality in their product. They feel incredible on the foot, and they fit true to size.
We firmly believe that these wrestling shoes are a smidge better than the wrestling shoes coming from Rudis and definitely better than the Asics Aggressor wrestling shoes that we’ve tried.
Reminder: We are on a mission to help people find the best combat sports gear across categories. Our goal is to review a list that consists of 8 to 12 more pairs and share our thoughts to the Reddit communities r/fightgear and r/grapplersgraveyard.

Overview of the Adidas Tech Fall 2.0 Wrestling Shoes
First Impressions
- Exterior of the shoe is well crafted
- The traction on the bottom is a step above Rudis, but wasn’t all too impressive
- Price is fair for what you’re getting
- This shoe is a very comfortable shoe to wear with more than likely zero time needed to break in
Video Review: coming soon
Pros
- Premium construction and one of the best overall wrestling shoes we’ve tested
- Very comfortable right out of the box with minimal break-in period
- True-to-size fit with no major pressure points for medium-width feet
- Lightweight and supportive during training and competition
- Price feels fair for the quality and performance you receive
- Strong all-around performer with very few weaknesses
Cons
- Traction feels less sticky than some competitors when first handling the shoe
- Outsole can feel a bit deceptive out of the box until you actually get on the mat
Traction & Grip (2.8/3)
The Adidas Tech Fall 2.0 performs much better on the mat than its outsole might initially suggest. Unlike shoes such as the ASICS Matflex 7 (Review) that feel extremely sticky right out of the box, the Tech Fall 2.0 has a smoother feel when you run your hand across the bottom of the shoe. Once you actually start wrestling in them, though, the traction comes alive. During testing on our Fuji Mats at home, we had no issues with shots, scrambles, pivots, or quick changes of direction.
What really stands out is how the traction works together with the overall construction of the shoe. The grip feels controlled and reliable rather than overly aggressive, which creates a very balanced experience on the mat. Combined with the comfort, fit, and premium build quality, the Tech Fall 2.0 earns one of the highest traction scores we’ve given a wrestling shoe.
- Traction performs far better on the mat than it feels out of the box
- Reliable grip for shots, scrambles, pivots, and explosive movement
How We Evaluated Traction (Apartment Testing Disclaimer)
While we don’t have a full mat setup at home, we do have a home rollout mat area where we tested the traction. We tested traction using pressure resistance, pivot movements on hard surfaces, and press-off simulations on our home roll out mat. We also compare outsole design and material to shoes we’ve used extensively in live training
Comfort & Fit (2/2)

Durability (2/2)
Weight & Flexibility (1/1)
Price & Value (2/2)
At around $90, the Adidas Tech Fall 2.0 sits in that sweet spot between budget wrestling shoes and the ultra-premium options on the market. While it may cost a little more than entry-level shoes, we genuinely believe the extra investment is worth it. The comfort, durability, support, and overall construction quality make this feel like a shoe you can rely on for an entire season without worrying about replacing it a few months down the road.
You’re getting a wrestling shoe that performs well in every major category without having any glaring weaknesses. If our nieces or nephews were getting into wrestling tomorrow, we’d have no problem putting them in a pair of Tech Fall 2.0s.
Final Rating For the Adidas Tech Fall 2.0Wrestling Shoe ( 9.8 / 10 )
Bar none, these wrestling shoes are the number one rated wrestling shoe at Grapplers Graveyard, and we firmly believe that these shoes are the wrestling shoes of 2026! Adidas did a killer job creating the shoe, and it’s honestly not that shocking when you really think about it. Adidas continues to be one of the leading shoe manufacturers in the world.

Graveyard Scale Criteria for Wrestling Shoes
To keep it universal across combat sports gear, each product type should have its own tailored categories, but always balanced to equal 10 points. For wrestling shoes, here’s the breakdown:
- Traction & Grip – 3 points: Because grip on the mat is the single most critical factor for wrestling shoes.
- Comfort & Fit – 2 points: Fit and snugness are essential for explosive movements and avoiding injury.
- Durability – 2 points: Shoes take a beating; how long they last is a major consideration.
- Weight & Flexibility – 1 point: Lightweight = speed, but flexibility is also crucial for footwork and control.
- Price & Value – 2 points: Balancing budget with performance, especially since many wrestlers are in high school/college.
