The UFC Apex in Las Vegas hosted UFC Vegas 108, also known as UFC on ESPN 71, on August 2, 2025. The card had great action from start to finish, with a mix of up-and-coming stars, seasoned veterans, and last-minute pairings that were even better than expected. Tatsuro Taira, a flyweight star, was on the main event. He put on a great show against Park Hyun Sung, an undefeated South Korean fighter.
Tatsuro Taira Submits Park Hyun Sung in Round 2
Taira had to change his game strategy when Amir Albazi pulled out from the fight because of medical issues. Park Hyun Sung, a highly rated 10–0 prospect, jumped in at the last minute, making this an interesting fight.
Taira set the tone rapidly in round 1 by knocking Park down with a clean right hand and keeping top control for most of the fight. In Round 2, the Japanese flyweight got another takedown, took Park’s back, and put him in a face crank submission. Park tapped out at 1:06, which was the first time he has ever lost a fight. Taira’s win was the perfect way to bounce back from his setback to Brandon Royval in October 2024. He is now tied with John Moraga for the sixth-most finishes in UFC flyweight history.

Co-Main Event: Chris Duncan Outduels Mateusz Rebecki
Chris Duncan fought Mateusz Rebecki in the co-main event and won by unanimous decision. He was calm and measured the whole time. Duncan outworked Rebecki over three rounds by using pressure, footwork, and clinch control. The judges gave scores of 29-28, 29-28, and 30-27. Duncan gains momentum in the challenging lightweight division with this win.
Lightweight Battle: Esteban Ribovics Shuts Out Elves Brener
Esteban Ribovics, an Argentinian prospect, came back strong and beat Elves Brener in three rounds. Ribovics kept Brener on the defensive by using sharp combinations and improved footwork. The judges gave the fight two scores of 30-27 and one score of 29-28. The win puts Ribovics back in lightweight relevancy after losing a few fights.
Women’s Bantamweight: Karol Rosa Outpoints Nora Cornolle
Karol Rosa defeated Nora Cornolle with poise and consistency. The Brazilian set the tempo and stopped Cornolle’s powerful punches with a lot of volume and clinch work. The judges gave her scores of 30-27 and two scores of 29-27. Rosa is now just one or two fights away from being a contender in the women’s bantamweight class.
Neil Magny Returns to Form with TKO Win
Neil Magny, a veteran, proved his sceptics wrong by stopping Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in the second round. Magny came back strong after getting rocked early by using classic clinch work and powerful top control. From the mount, he threw blows that had the referee come in at 4:39 of Round 2. Magny’s win ends an uphill struggle for him and puts him back in the mix at 170 pounds.
Kevin Vallejos Defeats Danny Silva
Kevin Vallejos did a great job of defending himself and striking in a fast-paced featherweight fight against Danny Silva. Two judges gave Vallejos the fight, with scores of 30–27 and 29–28. The third judge gave Vallejos the bout. He is currently 2-0 in the UFC and continues to get people excited about him as a South American featherweight to watch.
