Tony Ferguson Defeats Warren Spencer Unanimously

Tony Ferguson

Tony Ferguson picked up another win on Saturday night, defeating Warren Spencer by unanimous decision at Misfits Boxing 23: The Fight Before Christmas in Dubai.

The victory earned Ferguson the vacant Misfits Middleweight Championship and continued a surprising late-career run for the former UFC interim lightweight champion.

The bout took place at the Duty Free Tennis Stadium and went the full five rounds. From start to finish, Ferguson looked comfortable in the boxing ring, showing patience, steady pressure, and the kind of experience that comes from years of high-level competition.

After a rough final stretch in the UFC, the win marked another positive moment in what has become a fresh chapter for “El Cucuy.”

Ferguson Controls the Early Action

Tony came out sharp in the opening round, using his jab to keep Spencer at distance while slowly walking him down. Rather than rushing for a finish, Ferguson stayed measured and focused on landing clean shots. Spencer tried to push back, but Ferguson’s timing and accuracy made it difficult for him to gain any real momentum.

The turning point came in the second round when Ferguson dropped Spencer with a solid combination. Spencer was able to get back to his feet, but the knockdown clearly swung the fight. From that moment on, Ferguson looked more relaxed and confident, while Spencer was forced to be more cautious.

Spencer Shows Toughness, Fight Goes the Distance

Despite being knocked down early, Spencer showed toughness and stayed in the fight. He had a few moments of success, especially when targeting the body, and managed to land some clean shots in the middle rounds. Still, Ferguson consistently answered back, keeping the pressure on and landing the more effective punches.

As the rounds went on, Ferguson’s conditioning stood out. Even late in the fight, he continued to throw combinations and press forward. Spencer began to slow down, while Ferguson appeared comfortable controlling the pace. A heavy punch late in the bout even knocked out one of Spencer’s teeth, a clear sign of the damage Ferguson was doing.

Judges Hand Ferguson the Decision

After five rounds, the judges were in agreement, scoring the fight for Ferguson by unanimous decision. With the win, he claimed the Misfits Middleweight Championship and improved to two wins in his Misfits Boxing run.

Following the fight, Ferguson spoke about enjoying the opportunity to compete again and expressed appreciation for being active and healthy. He also gave credit to Spencer for staying tough and fighting through adversity.

Ferguson Finds New Momentum

While this win didn’t come inside the UFC Octagon, it still mattered. For a fighter who once stood near the top of MMA, Ferguson’s success in boxing has given fans a chance to see him win again and enjoy competition on his own terms.

With a title now around his waist and momentum on his side, Tony Ferguson has shown that his fighting career isn’t finished just yet. Whether he continues in Misfits Boxing or explores other opportunities, he’s proving there’s still life left in “El Cucuy.”
