Hey Everyone! We are back again with another gear review. Venum hooked up the Grapplers Graveyard team with the Galactic Rash Guards tht they offer and so far we have had a pretty pleasant experience with it! Normally, I don’t love when rash guards have the sticky elastic at the bottom, but this rash guard did it tastefully!
Overall I would recommend this product to anybody in the market to buy gear. I will say that Venum continues to be a brand that lives up to its high-quality standard. For just about any item we get our hands on, we’ve had nothing but good things to say.

Unlike heavier gear categories where we use the full Graveyard Scale (1–10), rash guards and shorts are evaluated with our Simple Verdict System. These items usually have subtle differences that don’t justify hard numerical scoring, so this framework keeps reviews easy to read and more helpful for everyday athletes.
Reminder: We are on a mission to help people find the best combat sports gear across categories. We share a lot of our thoughts on gear in the following Reddit communities r/fightgear, r/grapplersgraveyard, r/bjj and r/jiujitsu so be sure to be a part of those communities.
Overview of the Venum Galactic Rash Guard
First and foremost we got a lot of compliments on this rash guard so it’s a huge plus to have other people notice that it looks cool and fits well.
I will say it was a little tighter than I originally anticipated. It wasn’t too tight that I couldn’t put on the rash guard but it was definitely noticeably tighter than other large rash guards I’ve tried in the past.
I don’t know if that’s because I’m getting big and need to lose a little bit of weight or if their gear is made to just hug your body a little bit more lol.
Like I mentioned in the first part of this, I normally don’t love rash guards with the elastic waistband at the bottom but I do think this one was done properly. In the past, when I’ve had rash guards like this, they’ve still ridden up and defeated the purpose of having the elastic waistband. Not once, however, have I had that experience with this rash guard during the several times I’ve trained with this one specifically.
They have three really cool colorways and I personally liked the gray the best of the three. The item is currently priced at $54.99. It is a little bit more pricey compared to other rash guards available on the market but because you’re here at Grappler’s Graveyard, you will save 15 percent off any purchase. Pros
- Fits very well (tight but not over bearing)
- Lives up to the high quality standard
- Designs are awesome and look cool under the gi
- Lots of compliments on the item
- Doesn’t hold and collect moisture or leave you drenched on those sweaty days
Cons
- Pricer (but not the most expensive we have seen)
The Venum Galactic Rash Guard has become one of my go-to options for BJJ. It offers a snug, unrestricted fit, quick-drying material, and an elastic waistband that stayed put throughout testing. It fits tighter than expected, but the comfort and standout design make it worth the premium price to me. Save 15% through our link.
- Fits very well
- High quality material
- Designs are awesome
Category Breakdown
Fit & Comfort
While the rashguard itself was pretty tight, I wouldn’t say it was restrictive from a mobility standpoint at all. If you’ve tried other rashguards on the market, this is very similar to Gold BJJ’s fit on my body. If I were to do it again I might go extra large but then again I think I should just lose some weight and maybe I can stick with the staying in a large…
I’m joking, I’m kidding… large fits just fine!!! (cope)
- The fit is great
- The material feels amazing on the body
- Unrestrictive and did not hinder my ability to move freely on the mats
Performance & Sweat Management
Throughout several training sessions wearing this rash guard, I tried to pay close attention to how well this material managed sweat and how it made my body feel from a cooling standpoint.
Throughout the entire testing period I definitely feel as though the material pulled moisture out of my body but didn’t soak into it. This left me feeling some heaviness or pooling from excessive sweat, which is great.
I feel as though the material dried pretty quickly, which is also a huge plus if you are a heavy sweater. Throughout my time training I did not feel like I was overheating at all. Granted it is getting pretty nice out here in Arizona so I don’t really know if that’s due to the weather or not. Usually our gym gets pretty steamy on the crazier rolling nights.
- Sweat management: Wicks sweat and dries quickly, but feels slightly heavy when soaked.
- Cooling: I never felt overheated, though cooler Arizona weather may have helped.
Durability & Materials
From a durability standpoint I know this rash guard is going to last me a very long time. When you review enough of the gear we have, you can tell immediately what’s quality and what’s not. I definitely think Venum is in the category of quality gear that will last you a long time.
I’m excited to have this in my rotation for a long period of time. The material feels really great on the body. It’s nice and tight and, again, it cools while managing sweat so it does everything that I need it to do from a rash guard standpoint
- Durability: Feels well-made, and I expect it to hold up for years of training.
- Comfort: Snug, comfortable, and manages heat and sweat well. A solid addition to my rotation.
Design & Value
From an aesthetic and design appeal standpoint, like I mentioned, a lot of people did end up noticing that I was wearing a really nice rash guard. I thought it was really cool that the logo sat right in the middle of the chest so it shows once you actually put on your Gi.
All around I give the design choice a 10 out of 10. I love this and I also think it comes with cool different colorways. You can go with white, gray, or red. If I were to get another one I’d probably get the red.
At the end of the day it is also not the cheapest gear out there so I personally think the value is there. If your budget doesn’t allow for this, then it might not be the best option for you
- Design: 10/10. Gets noticed, and the chest logo shows under a gi. Red would be my next pick.
- Value: Worth the premium price to me, but less suitable for tighter budgets.
