Why we made this list
& Our testing Criteria
Most gear guides only show you what to buy.
But after years of training and testing dozens of products, we’ve realized something:
Knowing what not to buy is just as important.
This page isn’t about tearing brands down or calling anyone out.
It’s about helping you avoid wasting money on gear that doesn’t hold up… especially if you’re just getting started.
Every product listed here is something we’ve either tested ourselves or seen consistently fall short across durability, comfort, or value.
And more importantly, we’ll always give you a better alternative so you’re not left guessing.
Our goal is simple:
Help you spend your money once, not twice.
Quick Note
Gear preference is subjective.
Just because something is on this list doesn’t mean it won’t work for anyone but based on our experience, there are simply better options at the same (or lower) price point. We’re not here to bash brands.
